19/01/10 - Tour Down Under: Andre Greipel takes stage one

Tour Down Under, André Greipel has backed up the tag with a win on stage one in Tanunda. With HTC-Columbia still smarting after defeat in the Cancer Council Helpline Classic on Sunday, Allan Peiper's riders controlled the second half of the race with a three-rider break spending most of the day off the front of the bunch.

HTC-Columbia and Sky led the peloton before Greipel won a thrilling sprint finish ahead of Belgians Gert Steegmans and Jurgen Roelandts, of Team RadioShack and Omega Pharma-Lotto respectively.
